We're buying a house...

For the last few months Mike and I have been in the process of buying a house. Escrow was suppose to close on Monday but it will not close until this coming Tuesday. Here are some things I have learned in our home buying process:

  • If a realtor says they are available 24/7 don't believe them, they have a life outside of real estate. But if you tell me this as a realtor please don't show up late or not call back for a day after leaving a message or call back after not having listened to the message. Seriously.

  • If you receive a gift of money from someone tell them to give it to you in cash because if it's any other way they have to track about 8,000 trails of paperwork and it takes forever.

  • Buying fairly brand new is better than buying old with character unless you have a million hours to fix it up. (No Wood Streets for me)

  • Living in one room as a family for a month is hard and results in little to no sleep for me and Mike, not Addie.

  • Mike and I have very different tastes in paint colors and design, which we already knew, but now we really have to compromise.

  • Having all your stuff in storage results in wearing the same five outfits week after week.

  • God provides even in the moments when you feel like you may be overextending yourself.

When I am in my new home I will post some pictures! Until them my life may be super busy and I won't have a lot of time to post, but what else is new!? :-)
